butter London Nail polishes - All Hail McQueen & Rosie Lee

I made a haul at beautymark.ca last week which is the only Canadian online shop where I found butter London nailpolishes! :) They also have many other brands that are hard to find in Canada, or brands you may only find at Holt Renfrew. They didn't have the polishes I wanted in stock but I bugged them about it on twitter and they put it back in stock in the next couple of days plus offered me free shipping! YAY! :P

Sparkly pink - Rosie Lee ($17), Shimmery taupe - All Hail McQueen ($17), and Rosebud Salve ($8) in a tube which is not offered at my local in-store Sephora apparently?

Butter London nail polishes are "3 Free" meaning they have a unique formula that contains no formaldehyde, no toluene, and no DBP - chemicals which are all human carcinogens. Many beauty companies use these ingredients because the cost is cheap and BL are trying to raise awareness on beauty products that may cause a health risk. And now a close-up of the beauteeful colors! :) Left - Rosie Lee, Right - All Hail McQueen (Tribute to Alexander McQueen).

As with many rectangular shaped nail polishes, the cap pops off and there is another round screw cap on top :) The brush itself is relatively thin, comparable with Essie brushes.

The formula is definitely sheer as you can see, top photo - 1 coat, bottom photo - 2 coats. But you immediately notice the fine shimmers :D It's also very difficult to mess up in terms of painting over the edges onto your skin, or streaking because of the sheer formula :) SWEET! For best results 3 coats is required. I left it at 2 coats!

The final result:

LOVE!

I also found out that indigo.ca offers a much cheaper price than you would find in-store at Indigo, Chapters, or other bookstores. Plus you get free shipping with a $39 purchase. I made my first online purchase of Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, finally a new book in the series! Also, Lauren Conrad's Sugar & Spice and her Style book. Can't wait to read them :)!

Youre driving me crazy Jen! So many nailpolishes. I've been wanting to do my nails for the longest time but I haven't found THE shade I want it to be. {*hmmm}

This polish sounds really good though. Less harmful chemicals and all. I need to try these out. I feel like regular polish eats away at my nails and makes them brittle. {*yuck}

This one is GORGEOUS!! I might have to get it too =)

Sephora's in Toronto don't carry the tube Rosebud, I've been looking for it as well and can only find the tin one.

I like that butter color a lot, and the polish itself has just the right amount of sparkles too!

i've never heard of them - but the healthier formula definitely sounds like a good choice.

Ooh the colour looks gorg!
YES! A site that sells Fresh products *just* in case Sephora gets on my bad side and decides to discontinue carrying their products in stores. You just never know my friend, you just never know...

ive seen butter polishes before but didn't like the shape of its bottle. really like the All hail McQueen shade. especially with 3 coats. its very pretty.
btw the water marbling does work on real nails but it's a little messy so you need to clean it up with some polish remover.

Are you in Toronto? Because the Rosebud Salve in the tube IS available at that location -- I got one from that store to photograph for The Kit's next issue, launching Nov. 15 :-)

That's such a gorgeous shade of nail polish. Totally up my alley with the fine glitter as well :)
Hmmm, that's strange that online shopping is cheaper than in store with Indigo/Chapters/other bookstores. I guess that saves us time in the mall then! Thanks for sharing that with us or else I probably wouldn't have figured it out on my own
