New haircut, Essie, Aerie, and prize package from Mimi!

I finally went for a haircut after not cutting it since September, yes September! I cut it way too short back then and have resisted a haircut til now. It was much needed because my layers were gone and my hair was lifeless :( I chose a new hair salon based on their use of Aveda products - I looove their hair care and styling products!

Aveda hair products are AMAZING! She used this pure abundance hair potion and it gave my hair so much volume and staying power! It comes out as powder and after rubbing it, it liquidfies into a mousse-y texture (it really IS "potion" in a bottle!) - she let me try it on my hand and I was totally in awe lol! It leaves this matte, straw hay texture on your hair but its much better than having shiny greasy hair :P I'm looking forward to purchasing this, but maybe not right now, it was $30 for only 20g :(

She also used the volumizing tonic on my hair which I already own but unfortunately I don't use it enough! It works really works well when you spray directly onto the roots of wet hair and immediately blow dry. I don't get to use it a lot because I usually shower at night and don't blow dry in the morning. I still love it though for those special nights out though!

After my haircut I went to the mall to apply for summer jobs and headed to Aerie to see if the A*list gifts were still available, and they were! They were giving out their Superfruit vitamin gloss with yumberry (yumberries? is there such thing? lol) & acai berry in Pout Rose Bouton! Then I headed to Winners where I picked up Essie nailpolishes in Tart Deco a nice summer coral pink, Red Nouveau a bright red, and Van d'Go (cute name!) a pale baby pink. I have swatches in the picture below, Red Nouveau is an amazing red and only requires one coat! Mmmm the colours are so pretty :)

Andddd, today I received my prize package I won while I was away in Orlando!!! Mimi kindly waited until I came back to respond! She's such a sweetie :) The prize I won had Urban Decay Deluxe Primer Potion, 24-7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero, Midnight Cowboy Lipstick, Pocket Rocket Timothy Lip Gloss, Skyscraper Mascara, and a lovely note from Mimi! :)

Thank YOU Mimi! Please visit her blog Makeup Withdrawal!

Wow, what a long post for me :P I wanted to fit more in but I'll save more for later ;)

Disney Loot! :)

As promised, my Disney loot! I restrained myself from not getting into the moment and buying everything Disney because if you've ever been there you know there are lots and LOTS of gift shops there! Here are just a couple of things I picked up over the week!

1. NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Smokey Look and Beige from Ulta. I wanted NYX lip glosses for a very long time now and I finally have my hands on them! Now I finally know what all the rave is. The texture is not sticky but stays put, the bow on the top of the cap is adorable, it smells like candy, and it looks amazing on the lips :D triple hearts!

2. Paris necklace from F21

3. Eeyore cup from the Disney store - so cute!

4. Chain heart necklace from F21

5. Everything altogether and my horrible attempt at making it look pretty... Far left shirt with belt from Love Culture (love this store!!), tiffany blue shirt from F21, and two long t-shirts from Love Culture as well :)

6. Minnie Mouse Key Template thingy from Downtown Disney store

7. Minnie (for me) and Mickey (for the bf) keychains :)

8. Snow White Wallet my boyfriend bought for me from Downtown Disney store :)

9. Vinylmation keychain doll from Magic Kingdom store - these were so popular there! They are a surprise in every box and my bf bought one for himself and for me and the funny thing is we both ended up with ones we wanted! :D

That is all for now :) I have lots of upcoming posts in mind!

My Magical Disney Vacation :)

I'm back!!! I never would've imagined Disney World was so amazing! I had so much fun and everything about Disney World really is "magical" :) I stayed at a Disney resort and Disney World is like a little world of its own! Here are some highlights of my vacation:

Orlando Shopping

The first thing I saw when I arrived at Orlando airport were palm trees! I've never seen so many real palm trees in my life :) Following the night I arrived at Orlando my boyfriend and I rented a car to cruise around the shopping areas of Orlando such as Prime and Premium Outlet, Florida Mall, and my first visit to Ulta! The shopping malls and outlets are so huge! I walked into Ulta, stopped and stood at the entrance for 10 seconds taking in the wonderfulness of the store with my eyes sparkling hahaha. Ulta needs to open a store in Canada! I'll show all my Disney shopping loot in a following post :)

Magic Kingdom

The next day we headed to Magic Kingdom where I was in complete happiness :) I love how Disney rides are so relaxing as you go along a scene and story line. We also purchased a dining plan (which is well worth it btw!) where I had salmon cakes at Liberty Tree Tavern and also had a buffet meal at the Crystal Palace. I also met Winnie the Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace :) My favourite was the fireworks show - Wishes!

Epcot

The next day we went to Epcot! We didn't even really finish walking through this park because we woke up a little late and lined up for 2 hours for Soarin' (no more fastpasses, which helps you cut the wait time). Which was pretty amazing but probably not worth 2 hours of lining up! We dined at Chefs de France that night where I had a very tasty and moist salmon (I love my salmon :p) IlluminNations was another spectacular fireworks show :)'

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios was our next stop the following day and thanks to my eavesdropping skills the previous day, I overheard a lady saying that fastpasses go quick for the Toy Story Midway Mania attraction so we headed straight to the ride right when we entered the park. True enough, we entered the park at around 9:30 and fastpasses were already up to 12:55 pm! Thank goodness we had a chance to go on that ride because it was my favourite out of all the Disney parks! It's a 4D ride, so 3D images + you get to play against someone using a bazooka plunger to shoot targets - I was totally beating my boyfriend but in the end he still beat me - so disappointed! lol. The Beauty and the Beast musical is one of my favourite musicals at the park, childhood memories :) My favourite show was also at this park - Fantasmic! There couldn't be a better name for this show :P

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom was the final park where I had a couple of screaming experiences (well, I scream at pretty much anything a little frightening). I screamed riding the Expedition Everest rollercoaster because you go backwards and ride through complete darkness not knowing what is going to happen! Another screamer was at Dinosaur where there are flashing lights and dinosaurs popping up everywhere O_O, I literally couldn't keep my eyes open for the whole ride because I was so freaked out haha. The last screamer was at the It's Tough to be a Bug 3D show where there are a few surprises that I won't ruin! But totally unexpected! We dined at a African buffet called the Tusker House Restaurant that night - MMmmmm :9

Downtown/Boardwalk/Epcot

The last day at Orlando we headed to Old Key West Resort to have breakfast at Olivia's Breakfast where I had Banana Bread French Toast! Yep, thats right! It was definitely something interesting hehehe. I would love to have a resort at Disney, maybe one day! After Olivia's we headed to Downtown Disney where we purchased a few goodies from the World of Disney store and ate some pretty damn good fish and chips and chicken pot pie :) The next stop was to the Boardwalk where I made a reservation to Flying Fish Cafe. OH EM GEE, I had the most amazing red snapper with this sweet sauce! I'm already missing it :( We headed back to the Epcot after dinner to finish walking around the World Showcase and watched Illuminations again.

Overall, my Disney vacation was soOOoo amazing :) Everyone is so nice there, the sit down meals were so tasty, the attractions were magical, and I had such a memorable experience with my boyfriend! We're still humming and singing Disney songs :D

Shopping Goodies :)

Why am I shopping before I'm going to Florida?! Gosh, I need a job when I come back :( ! Anyways, I'm still happy with my purchases :)

1. Keds sneakers (from Winners, $25) - Holy crap! I never knew Keds were so comfy! It feels like I'm walking around in slippers :)

2. Bow-tie headbands (from Ardene, part of a 5 for $10 deal) - Headbands are a great and quick way to style your hair when you're in a hurry!

3. Rimmel lipstick in Airy Fairy (from SDM, $5) - I was hesitant about buying this because of my last drugstore lipstick purchase (Maybelline Pink Please) but its been recommended by so many gurus so I decided to give it whirl! And I like it sooo much better than the Maybelline one I bought! It's a very nice nudey pink on me, surprisingly moisturizing, and smells great!

4. Franco Sarto sunglasses (from Winners, $17) - So my dream of owning a pair of Ray Bans wayfarers is probably not going to happen this year (maybe I won't even like wayfarers next year haha) but I found these with a very similar shape! WEeee! :)

It's been a windy and cold day for me, so I'm just bumming around at home! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! :)

Magazine Picks :)

A few picks from my June 2010 magazine subscriptions + I also changed up my layout and played around with collaging my photos :) Enjoy!

1. Inoa - The no ammonia, no odour hair dye! Exclusively in salons, its advertised everywhere. I wonder if it's any good?!

2. Tarte Natural Lip Stain - I swatched this on my hand at Sephora and the colours were gorgeous! I was kind of weirded out how they were so creamy though, does that mean it won't work so much as a "stain"?

3. Whitney Eve - After watching the first episode of The City and seeing her runway show, I was so happy for her! Her designs are young and fresh just like Whitney herself!

4. Essie Resort Collection - The blue "Lapis of Luxury" is such a pretty colour! So is "Turquoise & Caicos" :)

5. Paloma's Dove - Paloma Picasso's creation for Tiffany & Co. - simple and pretty just the way I like my jewellery :)

Lancome Artliner Review

I posted awhile ago that I bought the Lancome Artliner during a GWP event and now here is my overall opinion about it!

The applicator is quite flexible which I think for a beginner is pretty hard to work with. However with practice, beautiful clean lines can be created! Fine and thick lines included. The tip is pretty fine which makes filling in a wing for winged eyeliner look, look perfect :)

The consistency is watery just like a lot of users have told me. Watery consistency makes it hard to work with, but it's also a good thing because mistakes can be wiped out with a q-tip immediately. The pigmentation is not super black because of the watery consistency, but can be build-able to a jet black if needed. You have to wait for this to dry before applying any eyeshadow, and it dries with a shiny sheen appearance (which I don't mind). Removal is also very easy!

Overall:

Price: 1/5 - $34 is too expensive!
Applicator: 4/5 - Can create clean lines :)
Formula: 3/5 - Too watery (good and bad).
Packaging: 3/5 - Nothing that special.
Lasting power: 4/5 - It lasts mostly all day, however I wore it on a sticky humid day for the whole day and it started to flake off :( I need to try with a primer next time!

Would I repurchase again? Probably not. With a GWP? Maybe!?

Liquid eyeliner looks beautiful but it's not something I wear everyday, perhaps when I become an expert at applying it I will choose to wear it everyday, but I always mess up!

On another note...

Tada! Roasted pepper alfredo with bow tie pastas, stir fry veggies, and pan-fried salmon. I made this for my sister and I and thought I would share! It's the first meal I've made all by myself :)!

Burt's Bees!

My tiny collection of Burt's Bee products, and here is my tiny review!

1. Naturally Ageless Eye Cream

I did not see any "line minimizing" results after a month of using it, but then again, I rarely see any significant with eye creams :( Smells funky but moisturizing. I stopped using it from a freak out moment where I saw little white bumps under my eye area but that could've been a couple of other culprits!

2. Super Shiny Lip Gloss in Sweet Pink

The colour is super sheer but it feels very very comfortable on the lips, sort of like vaseline but with mini shimmers in it. Does not last long but it smells great!

3. Lip Shimmer in Peony, Caramel

These look disastrous on the lips if you apply too much, it's a really bad version of a chalky lipstick. Was not impressed!!

4. Lip Balm in Pomegranate Oil and Vitamin E & Peppermint Oil

Okay, I'll admit it, these are definitely growing on me! Something about that waxy formula actually stays longer than my usual lip balms!

Do you have any other Burt's Bees recommendations?!
