Purchases Here and There and Apple Picking! :)

I've been overloaded with schoolwork, but I decided to take some time off to blog! :D

1. Lauren Conrad Style + Sugar & Spice, and Sophie Kinsella Mini Shopaholic (~$50 for all three at indigo.ca!) - I was super excited that LC came out with TWO new books on the same day. I've started reading her style book, and I'm loving it so far :) She has tricks here and there and I'm totally jealous of her wardrobe and celebrity life :P Can't wait to read the other two books! Not even sure when I'll have the time to read them :(

2. Yummy Breakfast Keychains ($5 from random toy store) - These are the keychains that are wrapped up in a box and you basically don't know what you get until you open them up. I bought one of these with a similar concept with my boyfriend of Mickey (Vinylmations) at Disney. I ended up with something I wanted - the doughnut, and my boyfriend picked up pancakes! LOL They crack me up. The eyes on mine glow in the dark too, apparently this one is rare :P

3. Paul Frank edition Strawberry Banana Lipsmacker ($7 at SDM) - This thing is a ginormous size of a normal lipsmacker and probably not worth $7 but it's my favourite flavour/scent! :)

4. Rimmel Sexy Curves Waterproof Mascara ($5 at SDM) - This was on sale and the brush looked totally cool so I decided to try it out. It. totally. stinks. The bristles are SO sharp! It does not add volume and it only gives your lashes a bit of a curl. The waterproofness also stinks. Waste of money, do not buy!

And then I went apple picking on Thanksgiving weekend...

...and it was so fun! :) This apple picking place is called Chudleigh's in Milton, ON. It also has tractor rides, hay mazes, an outdoor bbq, farm animals, and other small things you would find at an apple farm. The fall scenery was also breathtaking! Depending on when you go, different apples will be in season. For me, Golden Delicious, Russets, and Red Delicious were in season! Apples taste so different when they are freshly picked :) We also picked up their freshly made apple cider and apple crumble pie - YUM! Don't mind my boyfriend being a weirdo, this is what I deal with on a daily basis. LOL

Until next time! *goes and drowns in my notes*

butter London Nail polishes - All Hail McQueen & Rosie Lee

I made a haul at beautymark.ca last week which is the only Canadian online shop where I found butter London nailpolishes! :) They also have many other brands that are hard to find in Canada, or brands you may only find at Holt Renfrew. They didn't have the polishes I wanted in stock but I bugged them about it on twitter and they put it back in stock in the next couple of days plus offered me free shipping! YAY! :P

Sparkly pink - Rosie Lee ($17), Shimmery taupe - All Hail McQueen ($17), and Rosebud Salve ($8) in a tube which is not offered at my local in-store Sephora apparently?

Butter London nail polishes are "3 Free" meaning they have a unique formula that contains no formaldehyde, no toluene, and no DBP - chemicals which are all human carcinogens. Many beauty companies use these ingredients because the cost is cheap and BL are trying to raise awareness on beauty products that may cause a health risk. And now a close-up of the beauteeful colors! :) Left - Rosie Lee, Right - All Hail McQueen (Tribute to Alexander McQueen).

As with many rectangular shaped nail polishes, the cap pops off and there is another round screw cap on top :) The brush itself is relatively thin, comparable with Essie brushes.

The formula is definitely sheer as you can see, top photo - 1 coat, bottom photo - 2 coats. But you immediately notice the fine shimmers :D It's also very difficult to mess up in terms of painting over the edges onto your skin, or streaking because of the sheer formula :) SWEET! For best results 3 coats is required. I left it at 2 coats!

The final result:

LOVE!

I also found out that indigo.ca offers a much cheaper price than you would find in-store at Indigo, Chapters, or other bookstores. Plus you get free shipping with a $39 purchase. I made my first online purchase of Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, finally a new book in the series! Also, Lauren Conrad's Sugar & Spice and her Style book. Can't wait to read them :)!
