Ste. Anne's Spa Getaway

This blog post is dedicated to my Spa Getaway at Ste. Anne's during Family Day weekend :)

Ste. Anne's has two spa locations in Ontario - one in Port Hope and one in Grafton. Both locations are just an hour east of Toronto. I chose to go to the one in Grafton just because I loved what I saw in the pictures. Huge acre of land, the building was made out of stone and had a very authentic old mill feel to it. As I was planning this spa trip, I had two things in mind - I really wanted a Chocolate Body Wrap treatment, and I didn't want the location to be too far. Apparently that was very hard to ask because a lot of the overnight spa places that I looked at were either a 2-3 hour drive away or offered spa packages that I wasn't interested in. Keep in mind I am no spa finder expert, this was my first spa experience so I was being picky!

On our way to Grafton we stopped by Port Hope to grab lunch. We stumbled upon Bulai Thai which was cute restaurant along the core of the town. I personally LOVE Thai food. Pad Thai is usually my first pick, and in my mind if a Thai restaurant cannot make Pad Thai, I'm sorry but please do something about that!

Good thing I enjoyed my Pad Thai here, and I definitely want to go back one day and try some other dishes :)

The decor there was also really fitting and Thai inspired.

We checked into our room - the Canopy Room which was the only room left that night for that long weekend. It was an adorable room! With a canopy bed (of course), a fireplace (with firewood provided), and a beautiful washroom with a turbo jet spa tub and Aveeno amenities. Plus all the water used there was natural spring water that you can drink straight from the tap :) This room was located conveniently in the Main Building so it was nice just to go downstairs and have access to everything. Some of the rooms are privately situated outside of the building so you'll need to trek over to the main building.

Boyfriend and I couldn't wait to put on our bath robes and take a picture on our awesome canopy bed lol! These bath robes were basically what we and everyone else at this place wore most of the time. Even to breakfast and lunch in the dining room! Talk about relaxing ;)

Of course, we had to explore...isn't it beautiful? The places you can find in Ontario never ceases to amaze me!

The walk to the main reception. When we got there that day, most of the snow had melted. However...

...the next day Mother Nature gave me what I wanted - snow!

The buildings looked so amazing with snow! Doesn't this remind you of Hagrid's place? I believe it was an actual room you can stay at, it was named the Hobbit.

Ste. Anne's spa feeds you to your satisfaction! For an overnight stay we had a chance to sit down for Afternoon Tea, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch. The Afternoon Tea which is what you see below. I chose the sweet dish with their sweet tea. Their green tea smells and tastes so amazing! I almost had it with every meal I had there. I can't wait to go back and have this tea again!

This was the lunch we had the following day. I want one right now! The food I felt was fine-dining style and you could definitely ask for more if you'd like but I felt the portions were good and minimized food wastage. I felt like I was fed like a King there!

I don't have pictures of my spa treatment but yes I did actually get a Chocolate Body Wrap! It was part of their February special for Valentine's day so they only have it during this time of the year. I didn't take any photos as my camera probably would've acquired chocolate along the way and the room would be too dark for my camera to handle. I wish I still had the description with me but I'll go from memory. She started me off with a hot chocolate foot soak, and then used this chocolate scrub composed of this special type of chocolate, and oils which exfoliated my skin and covered my body with chocolate. She then wrapped me in warm towels. As I was wrapped, she gave me a facial massage, scalp massage, and a foot massage. It ended off with an amazing hot chocolate she made for me while I was washing all the chocolate off :) So relaxing! My boyfriend also enjoyed his first spa treatment - Hot Stone Aromatherapy Massage. We both had a healthy glow and a fresh look after our spa treatment. If only we could have this everyday!

We also tried out the Eucalyptus Steam Room which I could not stay for more than 2 seconds because I felt like I couldn't breathe, but I calmed myself down and managed to stay in there for a few minutes. After you come out you feel like a totally different person. Your skin feels all tingly and sensational :D We were also able to slip into the outdoor hot tub when it was snowing!!! Felt so amazing to be in such a comfortable temperature with snow falling down on you.

If you plan on going to Ste. Anne's I'd recommend you giving them a call. I had a very nice lady help me out because their rates on their website seemed great but did not apply for weekends which are Fri, Sat, Sun. She managed to find me a last minute deal for $300 per person which included a one night stay, $100 spa credit towards your spa treatment, your four meals, a wellness class (I went for Yoga in this beautiful open room) and access to all their facilities including The Eucalyptus Steam Room and outdoor hot tubs (3 different temperatures).

So if you haven't realized already by the tone of my blog post, I really enjoyed my stay at Ste. Anne's and I would recommend this place to anyone! It was hard winding down and straying away from my cell phone (as this was not recommended in all public areas), but I managed to relax and felt lifted from reality!

xoxo
